Parent Responsibilities
Coaches and a volunteer parent group (led by the Parent Council) run the CCB Swordfish swim team.
Parent participation is vital to the development and maintenance of a successful swim team. No team can succeed without strong parent participation, volunteering, supporting the swimmers, serving as role models, etc.
Below please find the general expectations of parents as well as specific volunteer responsibilities.
General Expectations
Parents are expected to:
- Support their swimmers in their efforts, including full participation and on-time attendance
- Serve as role models for all the children on the team, demonstrating good sportsmanship at all times toward coaches, officials, opponents and teammates;
- Support coaches' decisions, discussing any questions with coach(es) in private
- Volunteer to perform the different duties required at swim meets;
- Fulfill duties on parent council if asked
- Assist the team as possible in other ways
Additionally, one adult family member is expected to work as a parent-volunteer at
a minimum of four meets (may be "home" and/or "away" meets) or, in lieu of committing to
volunteer work at meets,
may contribute $280.00, generally to be submitted with your child's application/registration
Parent Duties and Responsibilities at Home Meets

- Timer's meeting will be held before start of meet to review the rules and lane assignments

- Wear shoes when you're not on deck and leave the area.
- Cheer on the team
